What is Handrail?
Many different stairs are used in buildings today. It is important to be safe when using stairs. For this reason, railings made of materials such as wood, metal bars, arme glass and marble are used. The handrail provides individuals with safe descent and ascent. The handrails are parallel to the stair arm. The holding elements that start from the first step and continue without interruption until the last step of the stairs are called handrails.
Handrails provide an advantage as they support the ups and downs of stairs. In order to ensure safety, elements known as handrails are placed on the open sections of the stairs, along the exit strip, parallel to the slope of the stairs.
It is extremely important to use handrails compatible with the material of the stairs to avoid falling on the side of the stairwell and for safety. Handrails, which are used for comfortable descent or ascent by holding them by hand, are produced using different materials. The height of the handrails is 95 cm from the tip of the step. The handrail should be located at a height of 85 to 95 cm at the tip of the stairs or on the nose of the stairs.
